1:18 P-40B Flying Tiger Decal. The American Volunteer Group based in China was divided into three squadrons. The Adam and Eves, Hell Angels, and Panda Bears. The squadron logo was located on the right side of the fuselage. The 21st 1:18 P-40 comes with no squadron logo so for those seeking to associate their P-40 with an AVG squadron, this Panda Bear logo is a must!



A little history: The Panda Bear logo was designed and drawn by AVG pilot and cartoonist Allen "Bert" Christman was later killed in action. The Panda itself is shown "cycling" and it was intended to represent Flight Leader John Petach as he raced about to meet his future bride, AVG nurse Emma Jane Foster. This logo was placed on all the squadron's P-40s.
